How will I get a 1099 from a bankrupt company?

I worked as a contractor for a bankrupt company in 2009. How will I get a 1099 from that company. All invoices were paid by the company, none by the trust.

I imagine that you should receive one. Just because they are bankrupt does not disqualify them from fulfilling their tax reporting obligations. If you do not get one, do not report the income and then if the government docks you tell them you did not receive a 1099.

You shouldn’t need a 1099 if you’ve kept adequate records of income and expenses.
