I agree, it’s not Obama’s fault that the rig exploded, but it is his fault for sitting around for two weeks before doing anything. And then when he finally did respond, it was to thumb his nose at America and whine about how oil is evil and it’s Bush’s fault.

Reportedly the USSR had to use nukes on 5 of their wells that went bad. People say that this well being under water would be riskier. They also say that since it’s on the side of a cliff, that increases the risk. I’d say that considering the well was drilled down 7 miles, they could have placed the nuke at 6 miles down and not have an issue. Thankfully, it looks like the new cap BP put on the well is working, and using a nuke is no longer required.
